BUILDING AND INNOVATING

                                 FOR THE FUTURE

Exceed Construction Co. collaborated with the MATTEX Geosynthetics Group as their Sole Distributer in Egypt. Their presence in the region dates back to 1996, which comprises of Mattex Fabrics, Green Vision and the latest member of the group, Mattex Geosynthetics. It’s a western run – technology driven company producing top quality technical textiles.

MATTEX Fabrics, Jeddah – KSA (1996) and MATTEX Dubai- UAE (2005)  have been active in the production of woven technical textiles. In these production plants are the TerraMatt woven geotextiles produced. GREEN VISION (2007) manufactures high quality artificial grass solutions both for sport and landscaping applications. MATTEX GEOSYNTHETICS  (2011) is vertically integrated and extrudes its own polypropylene high-tenacity fibers and woven slit tapes, which are used for the production of woven and the non-woven Geotextiles.

Mattex Geosynthetics specializes in woven and non-woven geotextiles and produces a full range of non-woven needle-punched and thermally-bonded polypropylene geotextiles in widths of up to 600 cm. It is geared to serve the market with wovens and non-wovens, thereby offering a complete and elaborate range of geosynthetics to meet all possible demands in this field.

Strategically located production facility in Al Jubail Industrial Area, KSA allows close cooperation with the world’s best producers of raw materials that are used for extrusion. All suppliers are located within a few miles of the production unit.

PRODUCT RANGE

GEOTEXTILES - A planar, permeable, polymeric (synthetic or natural) textile material, which be nonwoven or woven, used in contact with soil/ rock and/or any other geotechnical material in civil engineering applications.

NONWOVEN GEOTEXTILE - A geotextile in the form of a manufactured sheet, web or batt of

directionally or randomly orientated fibres, filaments or other elements, mechanically (needle

punched) and/or thermally and/or chemically bonded.

GeoMatt NP -  a 100  % needle Punched Polypropylene non-woven geotextiles on a width of 6  meter. Very high tensile strengths / unit weight. Used  in shore line protection for river banks and waterways as well as for membrane protection in water ponds/ landfills/ waste disposal. (Needle Punched nonwoven fabrics typically have high permeability as a result of high porosity, and conformability because of their high elongation characteristics).

GeoMatt TB -  a 100  % needle Punched and Thermally Bonded Polypropylene non-woven geotextiles on a width of 6  meter. Very high tensile strengths / unit weight. Universal geotextiles used in road and railways, parking areas, roofing, drainage applications etc. (Thermally bonded nonwoven fabrics typically have high modulus, compared to needlepunched fabrics, and high conformability).

Roads & Railways

Use of geotextiles in Roads & Railways is one of the most common applications of geotextiles. The pumping effect generated by traffic passing can cause a fast deterioration of the ballast and granular support of those to sleepers and asphalt or concrete.

High strength nonwoven or woven geotextiles can offer an excellent solution to avoid these failures. Geotextiles are being installed between ballast and the underlying soil. A good puncture resistance and engineered characteristic opening size are crucial for an optimum use of the product in the structure.Typically is TerraMatt W and GeoMatt TB used in these applications.

Urban Areas

In urban areas geotextiles can be found in most diverse applications. The geotextiles are being used in access and paved roads, sport fields, riverbed protection, drainage trenches and pond liner protection.

The geotextiles are also being used in vertical drainage applications. Groundwater and excess rainwater can be controlled well when geotextiles are properly used. More and more floods cause serious damage to urban areas.

Drainage systems like carriageway edge protect roadways, back and wall drainage and reduce hydrostatic pressure on rear face of walls. Rapid escape of excess water of sports surfaces can be reached easier than with conventional construction methods.

Industry / Waste

Geotextiles enhance both drainage and lining systems in environmental applications. In the large industry of waste containment, geotextiles are used to protect and cushion landfill liners and landfill capping systems, and they are used as critical components of geocomposites such as geocomposite drains and geosynthetic clay liners.

Heavyweight, needle-punched nonwovens are use as cushion/protection for landfill and pond liners to keep adjacent stones in overlying or underlying drainage layers from puncturing the impermeable liner.

In this application, the extra wide nonwovens, such as the 6 meter wide products from Mattex offer the unique advantages of easier application and less waste for overlaps.

Hydraulic Works

Tidal fluctuations and wave action can cause major damage to coastlines and off-shore construction projects. Nonwoven and specialty woven geotextiles can be used as a filter under layer beneath stone/ rock armour.

Also riprap or synthetic erosion control mats are used to control erosion by disallowing the sub grade soil particles to erode. The geotextiles prevent erosion carried off by runoff water or other erosive waters, such as waves, stream flow, etc.

The geotextile maintains the integrity of the erosion control or shoreline protection system. Typically are GeoMatt NP, TerraMatt W and TerraMatt FW used in these applications.
